2026: It's Time to Admit the Wolds Bike Park Should Never Happen

Let's recap...

Focus rides tried to build an illegal bike park near Horncastle in 2020/2021. It all fell apart when they couldn't get funding (even though the landowner had been assured that funding was in place) and the illegality of building without permission was getting real.

Focus rides then manage to persuade Christopher  Heneage Farms (CHF) that this is a sure thing...

Now CHF either didn't do due diligence (the original landowner involved states CHF didn't consult them) or have an alternate agenda.

Either way fast-forward to 2025 and after admitting funding isn't likely (at no point has ANY business viability been shown for this park - and bike parks all other the country (including two in Lincolnshire) have closed the applicant, CHF put in a few metres of gravel to show that "building has lawfully commenced).

Now at the end of 2026 Focus Rides claim funding is available to restart the project. Rumour is this is council money - or as it's more rightly known, OUR money - if anyone manages to interrogate the original planning they'll see the proposal is flawed. (some VERY daft assumptions in there that could've been debunked by a simple check with Bike Park Wales' figures for example... or in the case of the access just driving along Donnington Road (the graphics put up by LDC were plain wrong) you'd see the majority of comments opposed this project. The Wolds Countryside Service opposed it. Natural England Opposed it. The village of South Willingham ws 90% against it - CHF even resorted to leaning on their tenants to support this... if public money is given to this we will seek to bring a legal challenge.
